This publication examines the emergence of a new generation of youth activists in Afghanistan. More specifically, the report analyzes three Afghan protest movements between 2015-2017 and outlines 1) the factors that have motivated Afghan youth to mobilize and the practices and policies for or against which they have protested; 2) what forms the Afghan youth mobilization has taken, and 3) how Afghanistan’s government and its international partners have reacted to youth movements.
