This piece takes stock of the current social and political environment in Turkey. It specifically provides 1) a brief snapshot of the country’s political history, to include the coups and attempted coups that have occurred over the years, and 2) the negative impact the 15 July 2016 coup attempt may have on the future of democracy in Turkey.
