The four articles in this edition of the CTC Sentinel focus on 1) Hezbollah’s procurement channels, including how the group has leveraged an international network of companies and brokers to procure weapons, dual-use items and other equipment for itself and Iran; 2) three key factors that contributed to the potent threat posed by the so-called Islamic State (IS) in Europe; 3) how IS has rebounded in Libya since its territorial loss of Sirte in December 2016, and 4) the decline of Al-Qa`ida in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) in Algeria. The volume also features an interview with Vayl S Oxford, director of the US Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA).
