This publication features four essays on South Korea’s domestic socio-political landscape and its implications for the country’s foreign policy. Individual contributions specifically discuss 1) the National Assembly’s influence on the country’s policy shaping process; 2) how institutional bureaucratic interests have influenced foreign policy formation over five presidential administrations; 3) recent trends in South Korean public opinion toward Japan; and 4) South Korea’s ongoing and divisive debates over constitutional reform.
