This article advocates for the increased support and inclusion of citizen-based science and observation efforts in local, national, and international climate change policy and strategy. The author also highlights the work of a number of US and European based citizen observatory networks and offers three recommendations on how policymakers and governmentss could involve such actors in creating comprehensive climate change policies.
