Are displaced persons in Afghanistan more vulnerable to radicalization and mobilization to violence? To address this question, this report — based on surveys and interviews involving more than 1400 respondents across eight Afghan provinces — compares groups of displaced and non-displaced persons on an array of socioeconomic factors. The authors contend their findings did not support the perception that displaced persons are more vulnerable. For instance, they highlight there was not a significant difference between the attitudes of displaced and non-displaced groups towards the Taliban and the use of violence against civilians.
