In this blog post, Katrina Abatis discusses the role of John Bercow, former Speaker of the House of Commons, in keeping democratic debates going in spite of the political polarization in the aftermath of the vote on the UK leaving the European Union. She argues that Bercow relied on a number of tools commonly used by mediation practitioners when facilitating the debates in the House of Commons.
