This paper examines the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM), a framework adopted to eradicate poverty and promote sustainable development and growth. It examines the APRM with the case example of Kenya and highlights several aspects of the program implementation there. The author concludes that the idea of the APRM is bold, but implementation at the continental and national level shows that it is a process which has to be nurtured. It needs champions at every level, and from all stakeholders, and sustained support from the African Union, APRM partner institutions, and donors.
