This paper critically evaluates the Konrad Adenauer Foundation principles from an emerging market standpoint. Its primary purpose is not to establish their utility in the G20 context, although that is one concern. Rather, the main aim is to promote further thought regarding the manner in which the principles could be adapted to suit emerging market contexts and values, in order to provide a more sustainable basis for co-operation in global economic governance among the G20 and elsewhere.
