This commentary looks at the situation in Afghanistan following the 2014 elections. In particular, it examines 1) the political crisis after the Afghan elections in 2014; 2) the underlying interest of the presidential candidates Abdullah Abdullah and Ashraf Ghani, and 3) the implications of the crisis for the US, NATO and EU engagement in Afghanistan after 2014.
