This report reviews the work of the Contact Group on Piracy off the Coast of Somalia (CGPCS), which was set up in January 2009 as a response to maritime piracy in the Gulf of Aden. The report particularly focuses on 1) the objectives and results of CGPCS; 2) the legal and financial methods used in counter-piracy operations, to include combating the problem by following money trails; and 3) how the citizens of Somalia view the CGPCS.
