This brief examines Russia’s concerns over the free trade provisions of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement. To do this, the authors deconstruct Russia's arguments against the agreement; 2) examine the reasons why economic relations between Russia and Ukraine have soured in recent years; and 3) consider the problems that postponement could cause.
