This alert examines the effects of Libya’s political isolation law (PIL), or ‘deqaddafication law’ adopted by the country's General National Congress in May 2013. In particular, the author examines both the practical and legal points of contention regarding the PIL as well as briefly suggesting alternative ways in which transitional justice could be pursued in Libya.
