This Issue Alert looks at the growing number of people now seeking political and economic asylum in Europe, including their origins and their chances of success. The author also briefly discusses 1) the various channels, routes and paths which asylum seekers are using to gain entry into Europe; and 2) how the crisis may evolve, including becoming part of a ‘new normal’.
