This Alert reminds us that the peace process in Mali remains fragile at best. More specifically, it advocates greater international support for a country where 1) jihadist terrorist groups continue to spread their noxious influence; 2) security vacuums persist; and 3) public services remain poor. Given these conditions and the protracted grievances that remain in Mali, the rekindling of large-scale violence is quite possible.
