This paper looks at India’s evolving ties with African countries and how they fit within Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s new foreign and economic policies. In particular, the text's authors describe 1) the country's pre-2014 policies and relations with the continent; 2) the part Africa will play in Modi’s revised schema; 3) the direct relevance of African initiatives on India-Africa relations; 4) the key outcomes of the third India-Africa Forum Summit, which occurred in 2015; and 5) how to maximize India-Africa relations.
