What should European foreign and security policy decision-makers focus on today to help bring about potentially desirable outcomes in the not too distant future? This publication responds by outlining 14 such possible scenarios for the year 2024 as well as pathways and concrete recommendations on how to get there. The scenarios include 1) the EU’s creation of an international social or news platform; 2) the Middle East and North Africa’s switch to solar power; 3) an EU-US partnership to defend democracy; 4) the defeat of violent extremism in Burkina Faso; 5) Pakistan becoming resistant to instability in Afghanistan, and more.
