This YES edition provides an overview of events in 2018 that were significant for European security and charts major developments in the EU’s external action and security and defense policy. The book particularly focuses on the EU’s Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP) and its geographical dimensions. Additionally, it concentrates on the Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP) with a special focus on missions and operations, and policies and new initiatives such as Permanent Structured Cooperation (PESCO) and the European Defence Fund (EDF).
