This paper looks at the economic and political partnership that exists between China and Ethiopia. While doing so, it examines 1) the current political and economic situation in Ethiopia; 2) how Chinese investors and diplomats navigate their way through Ethiopian society; and 3) the investment, and development projects Beijing has undertaken in the country, particularly around Addis Ababa.
