The publication discusses border relations between China and the states of Central Asia. The authors examine border disputes, environmental hazards and water supplies as well as smuggling and ethnic and economic problems. The report concludes that harmony in Sino-Central Asian relations may vanish as leaders in the capitals of Central Asia view China’s rise with suspicion.
