The publication discusses economic developments in Uzbekistan and its trading relationship with other Central Asian countries in the post-Soviet era. The authors examine Uzbekistan’s economy in three separate historical contexts: as part of the USSR; during the disintegration of the USSR; and amid its emergence as a republic. The report recommends that Uzbekistan seek a deeper alliance with Russia.
