The publication examines the trade relations between China, Russia and Central Asia. It focuses on the effects of sharpening competition between Moscow and Beijing for influence in the region, especially the potential threat to security. The authors argue that the urgent need for Central Asian raw materials by Russia and China could lead to social and economic crisis in the area.
