The publication looks at military reform in Kazakhstan over the past decade and key issues afflicting the armed forces. The author provides a historical review of its military, followed by a detailed explanation of the Kazakh-Uzbek border dispute. The report concludes that despite the reforms, the Kazakh armed forces is in decline.
