This publication discusses the political consequences of annulled presidential elections in Serbia. Under the Constitution there must be an electorate turnout of at least 50 percent. The author argues that as a consequence Serbia has been plunged into a major political and constitutional crisis and that policymakers seem uncertain how resolve this issue. The publication concludes that despite his electoral woes the current president should use his popularity to change perceptions about war crimes but that much will also depend on the renewed electoral strength of the nationalist right and developments in Montenegro.
