This publication discusses Russia's position in the international system in the context of the Euro-Atlantic integration process from a Romanian perspective. The author argues that Moscow seems unable to adapt to its new international post Cold War status and this is having a negative impact on Russian relations with most of East European former communist states. The publication concludes that Romania and other states in the region see NATO and EU membership as a sound foundation to develop improved bilateral relations with Russia.
