This brief argues that the fragmented MENA region constitutes a continuous space when it comes to conflict. Indeed, toxic ideologies, violent perpetrators and lethal weapons move around freely in the region and leave self-feeding instability in their wake. In addition to describing the MENA area’s pathologies, the text’s author also examines what this "conflict Schengen" has meant for the long-suffering civilians in the region.
