This publication examines the increased demand for liquefied natural gas (LNG) in Asian markets as well as its impact on trade relations and geopolitical tensions. More specifically, the text’s author looks at 1) the ways in which demand for LNG has had an impact on shipping routes and trade; 2) the traditional and newer suppliers of LNG to Asia, with a focus on Qatar and Australia; 3) other new potential LNG producers -- such as African nations, Canada and Israel -- and what the political implications could be of these countries joining the ranks of natural gas exporters, and more.
