Fabien Merz is a Senior Researcher and Co-Team Head of the Swiss and Euro-Atlantic Security Team at the Center for Security Studies (CSS). He is also co-editor of the monthly policy brief series CSS Analyses in Security Policy and of the CSS Bulletin, which is published once a year.
Fabien holds a BA in International Relations from the University of Geneva, an MA in Terrorism Studies from the University of St Andrews, UK, as well as a graduate certificate in International Security from Stanford University. He is currently pursuing a further MSc in International Strategy and Diplomacy at the London School of Economics. Before joining the CSS, Fabien worked at the Swiss section of Amnesty International and at the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs's (FDFA) Crisis Management Centre, where he dealt with issues related to terrorism.
His areas of research include Swiss and European foreign and security policy, as well as counter-terrorism and C/PVE.
