This commentary discusses child poverty in Spain, with particular reference to the "Child Well-Being in Rich Countries" study by UNICEF. The author notes that Spain has fallen down the league table in the report. He suggests austerity measures have directly affected children and that the impact has been particularly acute among immigrants. While Spain’s child poverty gap is the largest in the UNICEF ranking, it is still ahead of the US in the child well-being tables.
