This paper discusses the international arms control concept of micro-disarmament. The authors describe micro-disarmament as practical disarmament in the context of the conflicts and light weapons that are killing people in the hundreds of thousands. The paper examines the national and international policy possibilities available to implement micro-disarmament and counter the threat of small arms proliferation.
