This paper discusses including weapons of mass destruction in the existing 'limited' Nuclear Weapon Free Zone (NWFZ) approach, in order to create a new Weapons of Mass Destruction-Free Zones (WMDFZ) concept. The authors argue that such enhanced zones might add value, particularly in the Middle East. They also look at the crucial role the EU can play in the promotion of the WMDFZ concept.
