This paper examines the pro and anti-European stances in the Netherlands and whether further eurozone integration is in the interest of the country. The authors argue that while the Netherlands was in favor of its place in the eurozone at first, its lack of focus on the country’s interests may limit future support. They also suggest that the Dutch will probably only support deeper European integration if it involves the entire EU, rather than just the eurozone.
