This commentary examines the effect Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s 2014 victory in Turkey's first ever presidential elections by popular vote is likely to have on the country's politics. More specifically, the author examines how Erdogan could seek to change the constitution to enforce his position and how this would affect Turkey's new government and the country's accession process into the EU.
