This paper analyzes the nuclear policies of the Visegrád Group, both before and after the end of the Cold War, and argues that they have been primarily influenced by the four countries' military alliances. The paper’s authors also contend that although there are no institutionalized mechanisms to form a joint Visegrád Group position on nonproliferation and arms control, the Group’s members have developed identical national positions on these issues because of their common interests.
