This policy perspective focuses on the budget constraints France now faces and how they might negatively impact Paris' willingness to support the EU's Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP). With this possibility in mind, the latter part of the brief recommends ways that the EU can keep France – along with its vital military capabilities and willingness to use them – within the CSDP fold.
