This report discusses the fragile political situation that has plagued South Sudan since 2013. Continued violence, the author argues, is eroding the country's capital, aggravating its structural problems and polarizing the population. To solve these problems, he suggests making the political processes more inclusive and engaging citizens to play a greater role in strengthening the governance structures. He also recommends that South Sudan should develop a polity that confronts and reverses the country’s legacy of injustice and partisanship and replaces it with a sense of inclusiveness and fairness.
