This report provides an overview of the proceedings of the 2017 Oslo Forum. Among other pressing issues, the participants at the conference focused on 1) localized ceasefires and the establishment of de-escalation zones in Syria; 2) whether there’s anything other than a bleak outlook regarding the future of South Sudan’s disputes and peace process; 3) the conflict landscape in Nigeria; 4) the chances for reconciliation in Iraq subsequent to the defeat of the so-called Islamic State; 5) stability in the Balkans, and much more.
