This handbook provides an introduction to the Russian concept of information warfare (IW), including its cyber component. The handbook specifically covers 1) the basic concepts and terminology used in Russian IW; 2) the latter’s general aims and objectives; 3) the historical development of Russia’s IW techniques and the ones that are being used today; and 4) the challenges Russian IW may pose for NATO in the future.
