This paper presents the proceedings of a September 2007 seminar entitled "Environment and Conflict – Evaluating and Strengthening the Means of Interdisciplinary Cooperation." It includes chapters on the topic of monitoring environment and security, focusing on approaches to security, environment and conflict, environmental security and conflict risk assessments, and treaty monitoring based on geographic information systems and remote sensing.
