This study examines the impact of violent extremism on South Sudanese and Somalian refugees in Ethiopia. The text’s author argues that the risks of violent extremism in both populations are low and that refugees play a key role in fighting extremist threats. However, the harsh conditions they are being subjected to pose several humanitarian, development and security concerns. As a result, the author recommends that Ethiopia and the international community should undertake urgent efforts to improve living conditions for the refugees.
