This paper synopsizes the results of the Oslo Forum, which took place in June 2016 and largely focused on the emerging challenges mediators face in responding to war. The specific topics covered in the report include 1) the preliminary steps that are needed to end the war in Syria; 2) the difficulties of securing a political agreement in Libya; 3) the factors that facilitate the implementation of ceasefires; 4) the peace negotiations in Colombia; 5) the prospects for a working peace with the Taliban in Afghanistan; 5) the opportunities for peace in Yemen, and much more.
