This study analyzes the US’ current foreign and defense strategy for the Asia-Pacific region and how it should be modified to cope with China’s growing military power. Basically, the US needs to maintain its current grand strategy, which emphasizes global engagement, and improve its complementary strategy of ‘forward defense’, particularly by integrating its land power capabilities in more effective ways.
