This issue of the CAD deals with the role of oil and gas in the South Caucasus. In the first contribution Julia Kusznir gives an update on plans for the Southern Corridor gas pipeline, i.e. the projects to transport natural gas from the Caspian Sea region to European markets. In the second contribution Farid Guliyev analyses the impact of the oil and gas boom on the political regime of Azerbaijan.
