This edition examines the role of elites and oligarchs in Russia. Firstly, Jadwiga Rogoza outlines how - following the annexation of Crimea - the Russian authorities seem stronger than ever, and assesses the costs that Russia will likely pay for the Kremlins political stability and geopolitical successes. Secondly, Marcin Kaczmarski suggests that the competition between domestic power-holders currently found in Putins Russia can be seen as a form of pluralism, and that the evolving distribution of these domestic power relations influence Russias international behavior, particularly the implementation of its foreign policy.
