The Elcano Royal Institute is an independent, private foundation whose primary goal is to act as a leading forum for research and analysis and to stimulate informed discussion of international affairs, with a particular focus on areas of interest from a Spanish perspective. The Elcano Policy Papers series features publications on the organizations areas of interest, including such topics as international security, national defense in Spain the European Union.
